Founder, owner and director of Yak Travel, Alan Palmer is the author of Moroccan Atlas the Trekking Guide (Trailblazer Publications) and the new edition of Pakistan (Insight Guides, 2025). He has also contributed to a number of other guide books, including The Rough Guide to Morocco and The Rough Guide to the Best 100 Places on Earth 2021, published by Rough Guides, plus The Silk Road, published by Insight Guides. Additionally, he regularly writes articles for travel magazines and delivers talks and presentations on North-East India, Morocco, Pakistan, Nepal and Burma (Myanmar) at travel clubs and travel shows, in England, Morocco and India.
