For this demonstration, I have chosen to prepare Mqaret, a traditional sweet dish from Malta. Originating from Arabic cuisine during the period when Malta was under Arab rule, Mqaret has since become a beloved treat, particularly popular at village markets and during local feasts.

The dish consists of a fragrant filling made from dates and citrus, all wrapped in a sweet pastry that is deep-fried until golden brown and crispy.
